The summer has already started and we are well in the middle of it all. MA will keep open this summer, with some small breaks. Many projects are on and we are preparing the fall/winter 2012 collections that are soon coming in store.
We hope the flock is well and healing their feathers in the warmth of the sun.
THE WORD / / MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERE
In many of the newspapers these days one can see photos taken by the norwegian doctor, Morten Rostrup. The photos taken on work for Doctors without Borders manifest the ungoing crisis in the different parts of the world that we so easily are forgetting as we are not in the same state nor in the need for what we might see as a simple thing as a vaccine.
The dimentions of these crisis are at a level that we often can not grasp nor cope with. As the photos are often shocking and brutal as they display hunger and poverty and we are caught up in our western lives. A life that is in our day here in this northern country safe in every way that in these areas of crisis is just a dream.
The only guilt one could and should feel is if one doesn't help. Every month one can donate a sum that will help give vaccines, food and shelter as well as many other things to those in need by registering at www.msf.org / www.doctorswithoutborders.org / www.legerutengrenser.no

THE VIEW / / A GARDEN CITY
The vacation has started for many, but for some of us it is still work. Some pleasures are therefor quite good after a long day at work - cooling down on a garden terrace overlooking the city with a glass of white wine and feeling the cool breeze of the wind.
Themaflock is still working for some time with many new projects and taking some days off - venturing on small trips here and there...

The main collection for spring 2011 by Rick Owens is in store at MA.
For many this latest collection by the designer marked a turning point for the creator. With a more softer tone in palette and cut, the dresses were even more alluring in their layering and fabric. They seemed indeed capable to take you away again and this time even further into the fairytale à la Owens.

RESORT 2012 // PARIS
As the sales for spring/summer 2012 are slowly starting in the stores, MA's headbuyer as well as assistant buyer of themaflock are looking towards next year's summer collections.
The collections are on style.com, but the real treat will be in the end of June when the brands at MA will display their resort 2012 collections in Paris.
It will be several days of walking from one showroom to the other, but one can't complain when in Paris. Warm days hopefully, starting with the morning 'double cafe au lait' in bed at the hotel in le marais and suddenly realising you didn't have one hour, so the rush starts, but soon cool downs as one gets a warm welcome and 'à petit déjeuner' at the showrooms.
