THE PRIZE CFDA WOMENSWEAR DESIGNER OF THE YEAR 2011
PROENZA SCHOULER
Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler are this years recipients of the CFDA's womenswear designer.
The evening of the CFDA in New York last night brought out many of the young and up and coming designers based in New York. The young duo of Proenza Schouler have been for the last couple of seasons one the favorite designers of MA. It is therefor with great joy MA receives the news of this award.

Proenza Schouler is an interesting brand not only in terms of their designs, but their approach to their work and their philosophy, as well as concept for the brand.
The PS1 bag proved a consistency and idea of branding and crafting an item that would endure time and be as desirable next season as now.
This is indeed the concept of MA, the search for items that are not categorized as a trend and will fade away before the season is over, but items that are timeless and yet avant garde...

Congrats to Jack & Lazaro
ART NICOLAS POL
The much anticipated show, Sick Atavus of the New Blood by creative genius, Nickolas Pol, opened last week at a guerilla gallery space at 560 Washington St, New York.
The ultra-chic show was curated by Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld. B
oth Pol and Roitfeld are up and coming ingénues in the contemporary art world and their partnership for Sick Atavus is exhilarating.

In Pol's second New York City solo show, the Paris-based artist is presenting twenty new paintings and drawings. Pol’s work consists of raw, engaging pieces that incorporate layered paint, stencils, text and silk-screening that draw from and concurrently comment on predominant themes in pop culture and advertising. The viewer is immediately engrossed by Pol’s use of brilliant primary colors that seem to have been boldly applied to the canvas. Despite the frenetic nature of the pieces, the earthy, graffiti-like quality of the work speaks to a universal mythology that is accessible to all.

Sick Atavus of the New Blood is on view at 560 Washington Street through May 22. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone with an interest in the future of contemporary art to experience the work of one of the latest arrivals on the scene.

FEEL'N theatrically nude
There is a sence of theatrical staging standing in front of a mirror, moving from side to side, turning around, looking at every angle of ones body, on the dress that covers up or reveals it all....
The play of 'the dress up' is in some ways the feeling of stading completley nude, the in between moment where one changes from on outfit to another outfit. The confrontation with every emotion the reflection gives through the mirror.

All the questions, the search, the growth from a girl to a woman. What is hiding underneath all the layers of 'feathers'....
